Built in 2008, its vibrant yellow, pink and blue exteriors help this classic Caribbean structure stand out as it sits high up on the hillside in the desirable Belmont Estate.  The villa has an expansive view of Belmont Pond, Long Bay and Smuggler’s Cove as well as Jost Van Dyke and neighbouring islands.
The Great Room is accessed by a staircase from the driveway. This open room is the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats sail by while sitting comfortably in the shade on the covered porch. The kitchen is a chef’s dream with stainless steel appliances and a wonderful walk in pantry. It opens up onto the pool deck where a large 8-10 person dining table awaits.Â
The pool deck is a fantastic area to relax with book while basking in the sun on one of the many lounge chairs. There is a wet bar near the pool where you can mix up cocktails to enjoy in the fabulous infinity style pool. The built-in stainless-steel gas BBQ is also in this area and is ready for your grilling needs! There is a pool side shower which is always handy to rinse off the sand from the beach!
The building on the other side of the pool houses the queen suite. This large air-conditioned suite contains two queen beds, walk in closets and an en-suite bathroom with a double vanity. The suite also has it's own private porch where you can bring your morning coffee and take in the fresh air.
The third, air conditioned bedroom is located on the lower level. This room has two queen beds as well as an en-suite bathroom and walk in shower. Sunny Side Up offers a mid week maid service, where she will clean up the villa and change the linens and towels. There is a washer and dryer at the villa which is available for guest use.
All the bedrooms at Sunny Side Up has air conditioning, however it is nice and breezy throughout the day due to its location. There is WIFI at the villa and a Smart TV in the living room for movie nights. The villa is minutes away from Smugglers Cove beach as well as Long Bay Beach. There are many restaurants within a 15 minute drive and the West End ferry dock is close by for guests who arrive by ferry from St Thomas or to catch the boat over to Jost Van Dyke for a day trip.
“Sunny Side Up has incredible, expansive views to the north and then east and west of Jost Van Dyke and Tortola. Being so high up allowed us to view great rainbows and enjoy steady breezes which made sleeping very comfortable. The villa is in excellent shape, and we particularly enjoyed the open air plan with comfortable outside seating around the pool and open doors throughout so we could see views from everywhere. The three bedrooms and bathrooms are up-to-date, and the kitchen was well-equipped. The drive up is a bit interesting, but we got used to it pretty quickly. We liked early morning walks downhill to and along Long Beach and then back up the hill for good exercise. Our children loved the body surfing also at Long Beach. A great vacation all around. Sunny Side Up is a beautiful villa with great views and had all that you need to feel at home, the facilities are excellent. The villa exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend it to others.“
The driveway to Sunny Side Up is steep and does require some backing up/down if more than one car at the house. A 4WD rental is highly recommended. A waiver will need to be signed for children under 8 years old.
